How we Package Your Orders as a Small Business

One of the best things about ordering items online is that anticipation of their arrival and the whole “unboxing” experience. I personally love the extra touches that small businesses put into packaging their items, they’re not packed by warehouse staff but usually by the owner of the business themselves which means they tend to put a little extra love into it.
All of HUTCH London’s items come packaged in our exclusive floral print acid free tissue paper by Noissue. The floral motifs were hand drawn and then transferred digitally to create a delicate feminine design that can be used all year round. It’s so lovely to hear the feedback some of you have given on this tissue paper and that many of you have saved and reused it to package up gifts for others.
We also include one of 4 postcards with your order, usually with a handwritten note from myself to say thank you. They are also used to write a gift note on if you are sending something directly to a friend! There are 4 different designs and they are great for pining to inspirational boards or used for collaging. We also encourage that you reuse and recycle them.
Like everyone we are constantly trying to improve our impact on the environment. Our greetings cards and prints are packaged in biodegradable cellophane which will then break down over time.
HUTCH London is also a member of Ecologi a company that plants trees in order to offset your carbon footprint. So far we have helped plant 46 trees and we hope to improve on this as the year goes by.
Your items are then lovingly packed into either a board backed envelope, for cards, single packs of notebooks and prints or a cardboard box for slightly larger items. All jewellery is packed into a bubble lined jiffy bag to keep it safe during transit. The final touch is adding a cute sticker on the outside so that you know if it drops through the letterbox or you’ve had to sign for it, it’s from us!
